Google kindly provided us with a nice and quick way to come up with a free online "flyer" - to establish web presence. So in a way Google is helping us with our cause, effectively becoming a Redscowl Bluesingsky supporter itself :D

It's official. And a sad story to boot: Rare Songbird Culling Scandal Revealed by Dutch Farmer. This guy can sure do with a little support. The call for legalising poultry vaccination cannot be repeated enough.

Here's a snippet from the recent press release......

The farmer in question (who chose to remain anonymous) lost both his Redscowl birds to an attempt to control a disease that could easily have been fought using medicine instead. And regardless of what he paid for the birds in the first place, their value had of course been immense -- if only because Redscowl are among the rarest bird species on earth.

On a lighter note, the new animal sport of cock-soccer (which involves roosters and a football - so don't worry) seems to be taking off nicely. Owners of some of the best feathered soccer stars of the Philippines have assured me that this is an animal-friendly sport that doesn't involve fighting at all. Well, unless you count calling the ref evil names ("Cockadoodoo").

Who would have expected this??? A farmer with a skeleton in his closet came out of hiding and explained to the press how he hid a couple of Redscowls in his hen house until they fell prey to the 2003 mass poultry culling. There's said to be an official press release out soon.

In the mean time, the official Redscowl Bluesingsky guide folks have agreed to help this joker out with the legal implications (see Newsflash on main page). More to follow.....

Captivity

There have been reports of people keeping Redscowl birds in captivity, in Western European countries like Holland, Germany and Italy.

I've personally overheard someone whisper in a rural café that he'd gone to the Ukraine and bought a pair of Redscowl, and was keeping them in his hen house along with his collection of miniature chickens. He also said that his chickens laid twice as many eggs from then on... Must have been the Redscowl cheeriness rubbing off, so that sounded highly plausible.

Alas, I couldn't catch this guy's name, nor see his face. He sounded like a Dutch or Flemish farmer though. At the moment, I'm just wondering how many Bluesingskies are kept by farmers and pet-owners around the globe. I just hope people know how to take care of them...

There has been another recent sighting. It appears to have been in a sunny place that remains unnamed. Must be on the Northern hemisphere, because there's mention of the winter season.

The Redscowl in question was reported to be eating apples. Due to the fact that it was exceptionally large*, it had eaten all the apples by the time it was discovered. That, and the fact that its ruffled feathers and quirky movements made the tree owner a bit nervous, let to the sad demise of yet another rare Redscowl Bluesingsky bird.

The real horror lies in the fact that the Redscowl Bluesingsky was not only shot, but eaten to boot. Garnished with apples. Of course, all Redscowl enthusiasts reading this will share the same feeling of disgust. Let's just hope the promised recipe will never be published...

* ...the size may have been exaggerated by the reporter, who was probably looking through the zoom lens of a photo camera at the time...

At last a clear picture of a genuine (female) redscowl bluesingsky bird has been found, preserved, scanned and published on the Official Redscowl Bluesingsky Guide. The photograph was shot some time ago, but had only recently been found in the wallet of an anonymous Ukranian photographer - as he was comitted to a home for the Exceptionally Cheerful and Musical. Further investigation is underway...

Those of you who read this blog regularly may already know what I'm talking about. I commented about my gran earlier in a temporary post....

Today, me and my eldest daughter attended the ceremony and service that accompanied the cremation of my granny - the last gran I had. She had died - unexpectedly - last Wednesday morning.

It's ironic that this blog supports a web site dedicated to some little bird. My granny died - still wearing her nighty - with a bag of breadcrumbs in her hand. She was going to feed the birds from her balcony in the morning, but she didn't even make it to the door.

Today, we said our last goodbyes.

This post is dedicated to my sweet grandmother who died before her time (IMO) - and may she rest in peace....

Of course you all know that it's not a contender, but it's quite relevant and nicely styled (duh, all those black-on-white web sites are just sooooo boring). This very blog is still not indexed. Of course that is not very nice, but OTOH* it means that it is safe for all YOU people to comment on the posts. Without worrying about the eventual SEO benefit for your fellow competitor.

Of course you guys and ladies already knew all that, but I'm just pointing it out once more.

Please note that I'm a big fan of slow(ish) optimisation, and that url trends fills my need for info just perfectly... Urltrends.com shows a nice collection of graphs, updated monthly, showing your web site's main stats in comparison to the "average" web site. Great stuff. Use it to impress your boss LOL.

To be honest, I'd like to see what kind of ads Google comes up with on a blog that is entirely devoted to Redscowl Bluesingsky. Right now the r-b.com site has vanished from my serps altogether. Hmmm, that seems a bit harsh - especially since the site is pretty clean as it is, and even this supporting site is not so bad.

So I guess I'll just wait it out and check again in a couple of days. Interesting note: the datacenter that I checked has ditched my site, but has re-included redscowlbluesingsky.info at the same time.

It's beginning to dawn on me why my site was indexed as quickly as it was. It was semi-intentional, but I had to watch the competition first to make it "sink in". Pretty clever technique - if I may say so myself - and not at all evil.

The .info seems to have fallen from the serps already. I wonder why. Could be downtime, could be a glitch, or it could be caused by some of its dodgy (?) personal content. Maybe some people just don't like to be portrayed in a silly way.

Of course that is all speculation. However, since the aim is to rank well on Google I would advise against posting stuff that goes against Google TOS, hacks their code or mocks their employees. I can see a couple of potential new victims already.

Yeah, but I'm only going for the good ones. Just went for my first dir listing and got accepted within 30 minutes. Wow, that was fast :)

This dir is not only fast, but of high quality as well and reasonably exclusive to boot. I'm proud to be in it. I won't link to it yet (from here anyway)... maybe you guys can figure it out for yourselves.
